On Republic Day, we celebrate the unflinching courage and arduous efforts of our independent nation.On 15 August ,1947 ,after strenuous struggle ,India got independence from British Rule and the Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November . But on 26 January 1950, the Indian Constitution came into effect and after that only India in true sense ,as per the preamble of the Constitution ,became a sovereign democratic republic securing all its citizens justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Indians celebrate this fortunate day with a lot of devotion and excitement. As this day ended the limitations and brought freedom from encroachment of the rights by guarding the interest of the people so that they can enjoy the highest opportunities.
Each year,we celebrate this auspicious day with a lot of passion. On this day, the President of India hoists the national flag of India, at the Red Fort, New Delhi. The main attraction of the event is the grand Parade, which starts from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where all the forces like Navy , Air and other paramilitary forces come together and showcase their grandeur cultural and defense heritage .This day celebrates the significance of unity and vast cultural heritage of India .
On this day, the President of India distributes Padma Vibhushan, Padam Bhushan and Padam Shri to the most deserving for their honorable and exceptional service on different occasions.The most impressive part is the salute by the winners of the awards in the military jeeps and the march -past by the different forces.
The main part of the celebration is the homage, at the Amar jawan Jyothi , to the martyrs by the Prime Minister ,which is followed by a 21-gun salute. On this day , the Prime Minister also addresses the nation which every citizen awaits to hear .Brave soldiers are also awarded with Paramvir Chakra, Vir Chakra ,and AshokChakra. And the citizens who have shown fearlessness at the times of hardships are also honored.
On the third day of the evening of Republic Day celebrations ,the Beating Retreat ceremony is held in Raisina hills and an adjacent square, Vijay Chowk . The chief guest of the event is the President of India. It is an eye-catching old military tradition where bands of the wings perform before the President of India. Solo performance by the drummers is the most awaited part of the event followed by patriotic songs .And at sharp 6 pm, the Republic Day celebrations formally end with the National Anthem.
